The Posies lanzaron su tercer álbum de estudio Glaseado en el batidor en 1993. Presentaba un sonido más oscuro que su trabajo anterior, en parte debido al estilo de producción de Don Fleming, quien anteriormente trabajó con Sonic Youth y Screaming Trees, entre otros.
