Pyrotechnics collects the best of Porno For Pyros, the band Perry Farrell built out of the wreckage of Jane's Addiction with drummer Stephen Perkins. Across two albums they made looser, funkier and more percussive music than Jane's ever attempted, and Pets remains one of the strangest songs to get heavy alternative radio play in the nineties. Tahitian Moon and Freeway show the range they were reaching for on Good God's Urge before it all fell apart again. Farrell's voice is one of the most distinctive in rock, and this material has been out of print for far too long. This 140 gram clear with orange vinyl pressing is a good looking package.
