Khruangbin's run of live albums works like a flight log, each one documenting a room the band cared about. This double LP catches the Sydney Opera House, and the setting suits them: a trio built on space and restraint, playing a hall designed to carry every bit of it.

Laura Lee, Mark Speer and DJ Johnson stretch out here in a way the studio albums only hint at. "August 10 / Master of Life" runs close to eight minutes, "Two Fish and an Elephant" and "White Gloves" drift and turn, and the back half leans harder into groove with "Pelota", "Evan Finds the Third Room" and "Maria Tambien". Vocals stay low in the mix, the bass carries the melody, and the crowd is present without ever taking over.

This pressing comes in the alternative cover with a fold out insert, part of what makes the live series collectible. A strong entry point if you have only heard the studio records.
