'Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance' is the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2010's 'Write About Love'. Recorded and mixed at Maze Studios in Atlanta by Ben H. Allen III, known for his work with Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective, and Raury, among others, the band—who've been inspired by vintage Detroit techno and Giorgio Moroder—have infused their beautiful stories of sensitive souls navigating a topsy-turvy world with a lively dance-party vibe. This might just be the most creative and expansive album Belle and Sebastian have ever made.

Since band leader Stuart Murdoch has openly embraced bubblegum pop in the past, it’s no surprise that songs like ‘Enter Sylvia Plath,’ ‘The Book Of You,’ and ‘Play For Today’ feature keyboard hooks reminiscent of Scandinavian pop influences, both old and new. Don’t worry—those classic cinematic loves, kitchen sink imagery, and baroque touches are still very much present. It all comes down to trusting in the healing magic of pop music. If anyone could craft a fantastic Europop song about Sylvia Plath, it’s Belle & Sebastian.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.

Hold up… what were we saying?
