Living In The USA was the album that made Linda Ronstadt the biggest-selling woman in American rock. Released on Asylum in 1978, it shipped platinum and went to number one, opening with a roller-skating charge through Chuck Berry's Back In The U.S.A. and closing with a stripped-back Love Me Tender.
The range is the point. Peter Asher's production lets her move from the Motown sweetness of Ooh Baby Baby to Elvis Costello's Alison, from Warren Zevon's Mohammed's Radio to a 1930s standard, and it never sounds like a covers exercise. Her voice carries the whole thing.
This is an original 1978 pressing, still new and sealed. It is a cut-out: the record labels cut a corner or punch a hole in the cover to mark stock liquidated as overstock. The album is new and sealed and the vinyl is guaranteed. Long out of print. These were found in Eastern Europe and brought back home to the States, genuine copies from 1978.
