Duster's debut album, Stratosphere, released in 1998, is best enjoyed from inside the womb. It marked the end of the first wave of slow core while simultaneously reinventing the genre. The four-track album is a dreamscape that's capable of both waking up the neighbors and lulling them back to sleep. It features hazy, arpeggiated guitars layered over a deliberate drummer who isn't in a hurry to go anywhere. The semi-inaudible vocals express millennial malaise while subtly encouraging the listener to "rock out, rock out, rock out, rock out."
