The journey of creating' Come Ahead' started in 2019, when Bobby Gillespie found himself uncertain about making another Primal Scream album. In an interesting twist, this time the lyrics were penned before the music, allowing the story to take the lead.
Bobby immersed himself in songwriting with just an acoustic guitar, capturing ideas in bursts of creativity. With the wonderful support and encouragement of producer David Holmes, a fresh direction emerged. The collaborative sessions with Holmes and guitarist Andrew Innes brought the vision of' Come Ahead' to life across Belfast, London, and Los Angeles.
