Following the success of LP releases like Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind, Castle In The Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, and Princess Mononoke, we're thrilled to announce that Spirited Away is finally available on LP. The Image Album features 10 beautiful tracks crafted by Joe Hisaishi alongside various artists, inspired by poetic notes from Director Hayao Miyazaki during the film's production. These have been remastered and are now available in a deluxe edition complete with a new jacket and liner notes.

An "image album" is a special type of LP made for Japanese animations that captures the essence of characters' personalities. In Japan, sound design is just as vital as visuals, with characters—and even inanimate objects or feelings—having their own songs. Main characters often have entire albums dedicated to them. These audio impressions create a rich, multi-sensory experience that complements the visual storytelling. When creating an image album soundtrack, composers are given early graphics and imagery from the film, which inspire a unique soundscape rooted in the film's atmosphere. These compositions are produced before the official soundtrack or film are completed, based on the mood and imagery of the original manga or story.
