On September 15, 1957, John Coltrane stepped into Rudy Van Gelder's cozy living room studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, to record his first remarkable masterpiece: Blue Train. This special album stands out as the only one Coltrane led for Blue Note, a lively five-track collection driven by the bluesy title track. It features a talented six-piece band with Lee Morgan on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Kenny Drew on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums. To celebrate the 65th anniversary of this timeless recording, a beautiful 2-LP stereo set titled Blue Train: The Complete Masters has been released. It includes a second disc filled with alternate and incomplete takes—four of which are brand new to listeners and haven't been available on vinyl before. This set also comes with a lovely bound booklet featuring session photos by Francis Wolff and an insightful essay by Coltrane expert Ashley Kahn.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.

Hold up… what were we saying?
