St. Vincent - Actor - Vinyl Record
Actor is the second album from St. Vincent, released by 4AD in 2009. Annie Clark wrote much of it by watching favorite films with the sound off, Disney classics from the 1930s and 40s and Woody Allen pictures among them, then scoring the scenes herself. She was aiming, in her words, for Technicolor.
Producer John Congleton helped her rebuild the record late in the process, keeping her lush woodwind and string arrangements while sharpening everything around them. The result sets sweet, storybook melodies against sudden bursts of fuzz guitar. "The Strangers" opens in a dreamy haze, "Actor Out of Work" is a short, sharp jolt, and "Marrow" lurches from lullaby into something far more menacing. It is the album where her mix of beauty and unease first came fully into focus.
Released on vinyl by 4AD, it remains an essential stop in any St. Vincent collection. Start with "The Strangers" and let it unfold.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.
Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
