This posthumous self titled double album was largely completed by Sophie before her death in 2021 and finished by her brother and collaborator. It is the fullest statement of a producer who reshaped pop music from the margins, all metallic percussion, pitched vocals and bass that behaves like industrial machinery. Fans of Oil Of Every Pearl's Un-Insides will recognize the vocabulary, but the range here is wider, moving between club tracks, ambient passages and features from collaborators across her career. Sophie's influence on the last decade of pop production is difficult to overstate, from Charli XCX to Vince Staples. Across two clear vinyl LPs the low frequency detail that defines her work finally has room. An important record, and a moving one.
