Matthew Sweet's Girlfriend is one of the defining power pop records of the 1990s, presented here by Music On Vinyl on 180 gram audiophile vinyl with a 6-page illustrated lyric insert.

Written in the wake of a divorce, the album pairs heartbroken lyrics with bright, jangling hooks. Sweet had come up through the Athens, Georgia scene of the 1980s, and in 1991 this became his breakthrough. Producer Fred Maher kept the sound live and raw, and the record crackles with the lead guitars of Richard Lloyd of Television and Robert Quine of the Voidoids. The title track became an MTV fixture thanks to a video built from clips of the anime film Space Adventure Cobra, while "Divine Intervention" and "I've Been Waiting" followed it as singles. Even the cover is iconic: a vintage photo of a young Tuesday Weld.

This edition presents the album as a 12-song LP. A cornerstone for any power pop shelf, and a fine place to start for anyone new to Sweet.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
