Land of Talk - Cloak And Cipher - Vinyl Record
Cloak And Cipher is the second full-length from Montreal's Land of Talk, released by Saddle Creek in 2010. After touring North America with Broken Social Scene, singer, guitarist and songwriter Elizabeth Powell channelled the force of those live shows into a more complex, textured set of songs, recorded at Breakglass Studio with producer Jace Lasek of The Besnard Lakes.
Powell is joined by Eoin O Laoghaire on bass and Andrew Barr on drums, plus a cast of guests from the Montreal scene and beyond, including Patrick Watson and members of Stars, Silver Mt. Zion, Wintersleep, The Besnard Lakes, Arcade Fire and Esmerine. "Swift Coin" roars into a joyous guitar anthem, "Hamburg, Noon" swings between acrobatic vocals and rumbling guitars, and "The Hate I Won't Commit" features a piano solo from Watson. "Quarry Hymns", driven by Arcade Fire's Jeremy Gara on drums, may be the sweetest and saddest Land of Talk song of all, while "Better And Closer" closes things on a dreamy, ethereal note.
A rich, rewarding listen for fans of Canadian indie rock.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.
Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
