Japandroids - No Singles [White Vinyl] Record

Before Post-Nothing turned them into a band people shouted along with, Japandroids were two guys in Vancouver selling CD-Rs at shows. Brian King and David Prowse put out two five-song EPs, Lullaby Death Jams in 2008 and All Lies in 2007, each limited to 500 copies, and both were gone almost immediately. No Singles collects all ten songs in one place.

The formula is already here: two people making the racket of five, guitars pushed until they blur, drums played like the kit owes them money, and choruses that sound like they were written to be yelled in a basement. Darkness On The Edge Of Gastown and To Hell With Good Intentions are the ones that stuck, but the six-minute sprawl of Lucifer's Symphony shows a side the later records left behind.

Packaging designed by the band includes a 32-page booklet of liner notes on their early history with rare photos and show fliers, sized 11 by 11 inches for the LP. This pressing is on white vinyl.
