George Winston recorded December in 1982 as a quiet companion to the holiday season, and it has been a fixture of winter listening ever since. Released on Windham Hill, it pairs his original compositions with gentle readings of carols and classical favourites.

"Thanksgiving" opens with a warm, hymn-like glow before "Prelude" and "Carol Of The Bells" bring a crisp, wintry sparkle. The "Night" suite unfolds in three parts, Snow, Midnight and Minstrels, and the second half features his famous take on Pachelbel's Kanon, "The Holly And The Ivy" and the peaceful closer "Peace". The playing is spare and patient, built for listening by lamplight.

This is the Japanese edition on Windham Hill, catalogue WHP-28005. Collectors seek out Japanese pressings of Windham Hill titles for their clean, quiet vinyl, ideal for music this delicate.

A calm addition to any holiday collection.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
