George Winston's Autumn launched his celebrated run of seasonal albums for Windham Hill in 1980. Label founder William Ackerman produced the sessions, and the record's patient, unhurried solo piano became a touchstone for the instrumental music that followed.

The album is built as two moods. September carries the long, flowing "Colors / Dance", the hushed "Woods" and the much-loved "Longing / Love", while October gathers four shorter pieces, "Road", "Moon", "Sea" and "Stars", that feel like a walk at dusk. Winston drew on folk and stride piano rather than classical display, and the melodies stay with you long after the last note.

This is the early Japanese edition on Windham Hill, catalogue WHP-28001. Japanese pressings of this period are prized for their low surface noise, which lets every decaying note ring out.

A lovely find for Windham Hill collectors.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
