Boards Of Canada - Twoism - Vinyl Record

Before Music Has the Right to Children made them famous, Boards of Canada were two brothers recording at their Hexagon Sun studio in Scotland and pressing tiny runs on their own Music70 imprint. Twoism, recorded in the summer of 1995 and first shared in a very small edition, is where the signature sound arrives almost fully formed: detuned synths that sound like they have been left out in the sun, slow hip-hop drums, and melodies that feel half remembered from childhood television.

Warp brought the mini-album back into print, and this LP reissue comes in a striking white die-cut cardboard cover with the two stickers on the front, a design that nods to the homemade feel of the original. Sixtyniner and the title track are early fan favourites, while short sketches like Melissa Juice and 1986 Summer Fire show the brothers' gift for mood in under two minutes.
