Released by Warp and Skam in 1998, Music Has the Right to Children introduced the world to Scottish brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin and quietly rewrote what electronic music could feel like. Instead of dance floor energy, Boards of Canada offered warped tape textures, detuned synths and slow, head-nodding beats that sound like half-remembered childhood afternoons.

Fragments of old educational films and children's television drift through the mix, giving the album its eerie, nostalgic glow. "Roygbiv" and "Aquarius" became cult favorites, "Turquoise Hexagon Sun" and "Olson" are pure atmosphere, and "An Eagle In Your Mind" builds a hypnotic pull that never lets go. Its influence runs through decades of ambient, downtempo, hip-hop production and indie electronica.

This Warp edition spreads the 17 songs across two LPs in a gatefold sleeve, giving the album's deep low end and tape-worn detail plenty of room. An essential record for any electronic music collection.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
