Flood was They Might Be Giants' 1990 major-label debut, and it turned John Flansburgh and John Linnell from Brooklyn cult heroes into alternative radio stars. Nineteen songs in under 45 minutes, it is packed with hooks, wordplay and left turns, and it went on to sell over a million copies in the US.

"Birdhouse In Your Soul," sung from the point of view of a nightlight, became their biggest hit, and their accordion-driven take on the 1950s novelty "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" introduced a generation to the song. "Particle Man" turned up on Tiny Toon Adventures, while "Your Racist Friend," "Dead" and "Whistling In The Dark" show how much smart, oddly moving songwriting hides behind the jokes.

Music On Vinyl presses the complete album on 180-gram vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. A joyful, endlessly replayable piece of college rock history.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
