Transatlanticism is the record that turned Death Cab for Cutie from a beloved Pacific Northwest band into a generation's shorthand for longing. Chris Walla's production gives it space to breathe, and Ben Gibbard spends the album measuring distance, whether that is the ocean in the eight-minute title track or the emptier kind of gap in "Tiny Vessels". "The New Year" opens with a burst of fireworks, "The Sound Of Settling" is the one everybody claps along to, and "A Lack Of Color" closes it about as quietly as a record can end. Twenty years on it still gets named as their masterpiece by people who were there and people who found it later. This anniversary reissue spreads the album across four sides in a gatefold sleeve with a booklet and a download code covering the full album plus the original demos. A cornerstone indie rock pressing.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
