Built to Spill - Ancient Melodies of the Future - Vinyl Record LP Import
Arriving between the sprawling Keep It Like a Secret and the jam-friendly You in Reverse, Built to Spill's 2001 album Ancient Melodies of the Future is the Boise band at its most compact and melodic. Doug Martsch trims the long guitar excursions down to ten tightly built songs, letting his reedy voice and layered, interlocking guitar lines do the heavy lifting.
"Strange" opens with one of the band's most immediate hooks, "In Your Mind" and "Alarmed" show off Martsch's knack for bittersweet melody, and "Trimmed and Burning" drifts somewhere spacier. Two decades on, these songs still sound fresh to fans of Pacific Northwest indie rock.
This Dutch import comes from Music On Vinyl, pressed on 180 gram audiophile vinyl with a fold-out poster insert. A rewarding pick for any Built to Spill collection.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.
Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
