Barrie - Happy To Be Here - Cherry Transparent Red Color Vinyl
Happy To Be Here is the debut album from Barrie, the Brooklyn band led by songwriter Barrie Lindsay, released on Winspear in May 2019. Lindsay co-produced it with Jake Aron (Snail Mail, Solange, Grizzly Bear) and plays guitar, piano, synth and bass throughout, but it was made as a true full band record with Dominic Apa, Spurge Carter, Sabine Holler and Noah Prebish.
The songs capture the group coming together in New York after its members had lived everywhere from Boston and Baltimore to London and São Paulo. That sense of arrival runs through ten tracks of warm, multidimensional classic pop that sound like daydreaming with friends, from the gentle lift of "Darjeeling" and the shimmer of "Dark Tropical" to "Clovers", "Geology" and the closing "Hutch". The hooks arrive softly and linger long after the needle lifts.
This edition is pressed on cherry transparent red vinyl. A lovely pick for fans of dreamy, sunlit indie pop.
