Björk's Greatest Hits first appeared in 2002 on One Little Indian, and it has an unusual story behind it: the songs were chosen by her fans through a survey on her website. The songs run largely in order of votes, drawing on everything from Debut through Vespertine.
That means the obvious landmarks are all here. "Human Behaviour" and "Venus as a Boy" capture the playful energy of her solo arrival, "Army of Me" and "Hyperballad" show the harder and more euphoric moods of Post, and "Jóga" and "Bachelorette" bring the sweeping strings and beats of Homogenic. "All Is Full of Love" opens the set in its video version, and the collection closes with "It's in Our Hands," a new song at the time of release.
Spread across two LPs, it is a superb overview of one of the most inventive artists in modern music.
