Released in 1964, Getz/Gilberto was a major hit for Verve Records, headed by Creed Taylor. Jazz, pop and samba all took a turn, thanks to Stan Getz (tenor saxophone), Joao Gilberto (guitar/vocals), Antonio Carlos Jobim (composer/pianist) with 6 original tracks, plus Astrud Gilberto (Joao's wife) with "The Girl From Ipanema" (which reached No. 1 Adult Contemporary and No. 5 Hot 100). Also featured is "Corcovado" and Bossa Nova classics "Só Danço Samba," "Vivo Sonhando," "O Grande Amor" and "Desafinado" and backing from Sebastiao Neto (bass) and Milton Banana (drums). In 1965, Getz/ Gilberto took home Album Of The Year Grammy, Record of the Year for "The Girl From Ipanema"

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.

Hold up… what were we saying?
