In 2005, the Silver Jews returned after a four year absence with constant member and principle songwriter David Berman welcoming Pavement's Stephen Malkmus (who last appeared on second album American Water) and Bob Nastanovich (who last appeared on debut Starlite Walker) back into the fold for the outfit's fifth full-length, Tanglewood Numbers, a fully loaded ten track collection of gusty and elegant rock that runs the gamut from ballads to full-on rippers.
