In 1998, Coil released a suite of four EPs called "Moon's Milk (in Four Phases)" via their Eskaton imprint. The EPs were released seasonally across the year. The recordings were done in the band's home studio in Chiswick, London, just before they moved to Weston-super-Mare. The suite has long been considered a pivotal and pinnacle work in the group's discography. However, it has never been officially reissued or repressed on vinyl.

"Moon's Milk" is arranged sequentially in tribute to the equinoxes and solstices. The first EP, "Moon's Milk or Under an Unquiet Skull," starts the proceedings on the Spring Equinox. The EP features a two-part netherworld organ séance woven from vocal drones, cathedral keys, seasick strings, and opiated undertow. The Summer Solstice EP is lighter but no less incantational. The EP includes lucid dream torch songs, purgatorial spoken word, sultry chamber pieces, and falsetto ravings. The Autumn Equinox EP exudes a pensive and twilit mood. It includes a Rose McDowall-sung folk ballad, "Rosa Decidua," and the hall-of-lords hallucination, "The Auto-Asphyxiating Hierophant." The final EP, Winter Solstice, is the most swooning, remote, and ceremonial. It features a traditional English carol, "Christmas Is Now Drawing Near," rendered like an executioner's song by Rose McDowall's doomed, beautiful voice.

The Dais box set includes the entirety of the rare Moon's Milk Bonus Disc CD-R / 2019 Threshold Archives CD. This material is as rich and intoxicating as the previous four phases. It includes three collaborations with Thighpaulsandra, ranging from electro-acoustic singing bowl rituals to ominous classical melancholia. Once again, Coil confirms the vastness of their confounding, infinite alchemy, explored and refined across decades of experimentation, both sonic and bodily. Theirs is an art untethered, in the wilds of its own design.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
