The Specials hold a special place as one of the defining bands of the late 70s and early 80s, alongside Jerry Dammers' iconic Two Tone Records. Formed in 1977 as The Coventry Automatics, The Specials beautifully blended Jamaican ska and Rocksteady with the vibrant energy of punk, sparking an entire Ska Revival. They played a crucial role in supporting like-minded bands such as Madness, The Beat, and The Selecter, helping them release their very first singles. Their journey began with their debut single 'Gangsters' in the summer of '79, followed closely by timeless classics like' A Message To You Rudy, ' ' Do Nothing, ' and' Rat Race. ' They launched their debut album 'Specials' in 1979, followed by 'More Specials' in 1980. During this vibrant period, the band achieved two UK Number One singles: a lively version of 'Too Much Too Young' from 'The Special AKA Live EP,' and the unforgettable hit 'Ghost Town' in the summer of 1981. After some members departed in late 1981, Jerry Dammers continued with The Special AKA, releasing their third album 'In The Studio, ' which featured the iconic single 'Nelson Mandela. ' This wonderful 20-track compilation gathers all their significant singles and album tracks, making its debut on heavyweight 180g vinyl for the very first time!

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
