Smith Westerns, made up of Cullen Omori (vocals), Max Kakacek (Guitar), and Cameron Omori (Bass), bring youthful energy and glam rock influences to their pop music. Since forming in 2007, they have toured the United States and Europe, opening for renowned bands such as MGMT, Florence and the Machine, and Passion Pit. Their self-recorded debut album, Smith Westerns, gained critical acclaim for its fresh take on pop music. In 2010, they teamed up with producer Chris Coady and record label Fat Possum to create a more polished and grandiose sound on their sophomore album. Drawing inspiration from guitar legends like Led Zeppelin and stadium rockers like Oasis, the result is a collection of timeless pop songs with a touch of virtuosity.
