THE RETURN!!! After a 9-year break from recording studio albums, Miles Davis made a fantastic comeback in 1981. Building on the abstract improvisational funk that was pioneered by the Miles Davis live electric band, he returned with a new talented group. Although there are many new musicians on this LP, it still captures the moody, long-song style from the mid-'70s live electric band. This album features R&B legend Marcus Miller on bass, Mike Stern on guitar, and the experienced Al Foster on drums, among others! It was produced and edited by the talented Teo Macero, a longtime collaborator with Miles Davis.
