Southern-bred R&B singer-songwriter Mereba explores self-understanding in her latest album, The Breeze Grew a Fire, her first release with Secretly Canadian. To create this work, she reconnects with her multi-faceted self, appreciating her inner child and significant relationships. Mereba transforms her origins, reflecting on the grounding influence of her closest connections. Embraced by the gentle breeze of these memories, she finds empowerment as an artist and mother, while nurturing her childlike wonder. Mereba's follow-up to her 2019 debut, The Jungle Is the Only Way Out, reflects her journey through major life changes, including the birth of her son in 2021. These experiences shift her perspective—her inspiration deepens and intensifies. “Even being an adult, I had to grow up overnight when he came,” Mereba says. "Watching him engage with the world reminds me of my own childhood and first memories."This transformation led to intimate DIY recording sessions, creating an authentic foundation for Breeze. Collaborating with producer Sam Hoffman, the album’s folk-like warmth emerges from experiences across various cities, including Atlanta, L.A., and Addis Ababa. The Breeze Grew a Fire signifies a loving return to her roots, as Mereba releases a painful past and embraces new possibilities, flowing with life.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
