With over twenty years, twenty-four albums, and countless bandmates, Robert Pollard, the visionary behind it all, has finally decided to take a bow from one of indie rock’s most inventive and lively bands. You can’t really say Guided By Voices are ever dull, mainstream, or predictable. Since Pollard formed the “gang” in Ohio back in the early 1980s with his brother Jimmy and Pete Jamison—thanks to a loan that helped them kick off their first few records—'lo-fi” perfectly captures their energetic, raw, and uninhibited style of shouting songs.
