DIIV - Live At The Murmrr Theatre - Eco-Mix Color Vinyl Record

In 2017, DIIV performed an exclusive, one-time “unplugged” show at Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre. The band has now released a collection of live recordings from that event, featuring distinct arrangements of songs from their first two albums, Oshin and Is The Is Are, as well as covers of Alex G’s “Hollow” and My Bloody Valentine’s “When You Sleep.”After its digital release in November 2022, the compilation is now available on vinyl for the first and only time, pressed on Eco vinyl—exclusive to Record Store Day 2023. Zachary Cole Smith reflects, “In August 2017, I was five months sober, and DIIV hadn’t performed in nearly a year. Our friend Ric organized an intimate acoustic show in a theater in our hometown, Brooklyn. We decorated the stage with personal items and showcased our home videos on a TV. We invited friends and family and performed songs from our first two albums, alongside covers of other artists’ songs that resonated with us as a band. It felt like a reset. We recorded the show and set it aside for several years. Recently, we discovered the recordings and thought listeners might be interested. I view it as a kind of official bootleg. Our friend Jarvis mixed it, while Parker and Jim contributed the artwork. Enjoy!”
