Hold Steady, The - Thrashing Thru the Passion Vinyl Record

"After celebrating the new year, we traveled to The Isokon studio in Woodstock to record fresh tracks. With the help of producer Josh Kaufman and engineer D. James Goodwin, who have been instrumental in our music for the past few years, it was a highly productive session. The songs came together effortlessly and we were blown away by the sound. We added some extra flair back in Brooklyn with the help of Stuart Bogie and Jordan McLean on horns and Annie Nero on backup vocals. "Denver Haircut" felt like the perfect opening track, while "Blackout Sam" was a fitting end to a side of the album. In fact, these five songs sounded so cohesive that we decided to pair them with our favorite tracks from the past few years to create an album. After some consideration and with the help of our friend Dave Gardner, we proudly present "Thrashing Thru The Passion". This title comes from a line in "You Did Good Kid", and it perfectly captures

This time, with Thrashing Thru The Passion, we have released an album with five new songs and five that have been previously released digitally. That felt right this time. We can't say what we will do next time, but with the recording industry where it is in 2019, it feels wide open. We will continue to take the advice Paul Stanley offered on the classic Kiss song, "Room Service", and do what we feel." - Craig Finn
