Huddled over a frail piano in a Copenhagen bedroom, he embraced Erik Satie's concept of a "phonometrician," crafting "Third Drawer Down" -- a spellbinding soundscape. The hopeful, lonely self-titled record is a product of Batz's uncompromising vision: an eclectic mix of secondhand instruments, whispered vocals, and whimsical arrangements. From a broken piano and obsolete Roland drum machine to found guitar pedals and a salvaged acoustic guitar, Batz spent 18 months elevating his musical boundaries. "Not compromising with anyone," he says, "I explored my own limits."
