Black Mountain, the talented front-line soldiers of the Black Mountain Army, an arts collective from Vancouver, British Columbia, create music that truly resonates. Their songs speak to the beautiful complexity of life, reminding us that solutions are rarely simple and that the world is wonderfully ambiguous. Sometimes, a touch of madness in music can be like a guiding light, leading us back to our primordial roots—where our hearts find steadiness and our minds are set free. Their debut self-titled album feels like a space adventure built from playful, makeshift parts, sending secret messages to Earth through a web of sound—all while staying grounded in the timeless spirit of classic rock and roll. Fans can easily catch these roots in sounds inspired by Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd’s 'Animals' era, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin, and Can. Stephen McBean’s vocals are a smooth, bluesy blend resembling Neil Young, Mick Jagger, and maybe James Brown, all with a touch of soulful grit. When Amber Webber’s voice joins in, it’s reminiscent of the powerful collaboration between Richard and Linda Thompson on 'Shoot Out The Lights,' or Meat Loaf and Ellen Foley reaching full blast on 'Bat Out Of Hell.' Musically, the album is a wonderful mix—a protest song, a pop-cultural reflection, and a tantalizing rock casserole sprinkled with mesmerizing ballads and catchy tunes. The opening track, “Modern Music,” leads into the energetic and gritty “Don’t Run Our Hearts Around,” setting the tone for the album. Soon after, the intense and rich “Druganaut” reveals the heart and soul of this special 20th anniversary edition, which features remastered sound from the 2015 expanded release. Now available in limited quantities on clear shadow wave vinyl, it’s a must-have for fans and newcomers alike.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
