'Freak Out!' is the exciting debut album by the American band The Mothers of Invention, released on June 27, 1966, by Verve Records. It's often celebrated as one of the first concept albums in rock music, vividly capturing frontman Frank Zappa's satirical take on American pop culture. Notably, it was among the earliest double albums in rock — just a week after Bob Dylan's 'Blonde on Blonde' — making it a pioneering debut in that format.

The Mothers Of Invention transitioned from a band that mainly played R&B covers to one that showcased Zappa's original compositions when he joined. 'Freak Out!' is a musical journey through various styles, blending R&B, doo wop, blues-inspired rock, orchestral arrangements, and experimental avant-garde sounds, offering a rich and diverse listening experience.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
