In 2014, Wye Oak unleashed Shriek, a necessary and thrilling evolution for the duo of Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack. After constant touring and living in different places, they were looking for a new direction for their creative partnership. Wasner picked up the bass while Stack explored syncopated, meditative keyboard parts. This period also introduced them to composer William Brittelle, the Metropolis Ensemble, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, who have added their own unique orchestral reinterpretations to this package. Not only does this release celebrate the ten-year milestone of a remarkable album, but it also showcases the depth and complexity of Wye Oak's songwriting.
