Iron & Wine's latest release, Weed Garden, continues the journey started by their 2018 Grammy-nominated album Beast Epic. This collection of six songs, initially written three years ago during the Beast Epic writing phase, were left unfinished. However, principal songwriter Sam Beam's determination to bring them to life never faltered. The EP also includes the beloved fan favorite "Waves of Galveston" and perfectly ties together the larger narrative Beam initially envisioned. The urgency to complete this project was felt on tour in 2017 and was finally realized in January 2018 at The Loft recording studio in Chicago.
