Hip hop duo Das EFX's debut studio album, Dead Serious, was originally released in 1992. The album was recorded at Firehouse Studios in Brooklyn, New York and at Charlie Marotta's North Shore Soundworks studio in Long Island, New York. Upon its release, Dead Serious became an immediate sensation, peaking at #16 on the US Billboard 200 chart and topping the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for five weeks. The album went Platinum thanks to the success of the singles "Mic Checka" and "They Want EFX", which even charted in the Top 40.

Now, Dead Serious is available as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on purple-colored vinyl and includes an insert. This is a great opportunity to hear the album that introduced the world to the unique style of Das EFX. With their rapid-fire rhymes and unconventional delivery, the duo became a major influence on the hip-hop scene of the 1990s.
