This is a 2LP set and this version feature the recording on 2 standard weight clear vinyl records. The initial single Don't Wanna Fight gave notice that this band was the real deal. They branched out into different genre sounds with other singles like The Greatest and Gemini. Alabama Shakes Sound and Color Vinyl has proven this band has the depth and talent to continue making great music. Brittany Howard's voice is has such a distintive rootsy bluesy rock sound to it that matches the musicianship of the group. When this record was released in 2015, it debuted atop of the Billboard Top 200, making it the first number one record for the band. It also was nominated for six Grammy Awards and won 4 including Best Alternative Music Album, Best Engineered Album (non classical), Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song. Pitchfork Media gave Alabama Shakes Sound and Color vinyl a huge 8.1 out of 10. Overall critics loved the record as much as fans who flocked to buy and see them in concert. The record was an International hit doing well in Australia, Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
