다음은 2001년경 Shins 데뷔 레코드에 대해 말한 내용입니다. 뉴멕시코주 앨버커키 출신인 The Shins는 1997년 Flake/Flakemusic의 잿더미에서 탄생했습니다(이전의 화신은 거의 10년 전으로 거슬러 올라갑니다) – 같은 멤버, 다른 악기, 다른 접근. 카운터포인트 기타는 계산된 키보드 악절에 대해 움푹 들어간 단일 기타에 자리를 내주었습니다. 붐비는 인디 록 기계는 팝 기반의 멜로디 노력으로 이어졌습니다(누가 알았습니까?). Flake Music Vinyl도 있습니다!
