Following a year of touring across North America, Europe, and the UK with acts like Ought, Alex Cameron, Grizzly Bear, and Courtney Barnett, Burch returned to Texas seeking a break. Feeling a lack of inspiration and with plenty of time to spare, she began a fresh start, collaborating with her bandmate and boyfriend, Dailey Toliver, who provided guitar parts and orchestration ideas, leading to the creation of "First Flower." This album explores Burch's deepest emotions, including fractured friendships, family ties, and intense anxiety.
