Pulsing minimal synths still set the mood, but layered arrangements and electric and acoustic guitars give pieces like "Distant Dream," "Angel's Asylum" and "Utopian Facade" a widescreen sweep. It is the sound of a horror master scoring films that exist only in your head.

The set adds a bonus 7" carrying "Real Xeno," making its first vinyl appearance outside the limited Sacred Bones Society release, with an etched design created for this edition on the flip. A striking piece for synth collectors and Carpenter devotees, and perfect listening for a late-night October drive.

Side A
1.
