Die englische Shoegaze-Band Slowdive wurde 1989 gegründet und bestand hauptsächlich aus Nick Chaplin (Bass), Rachel Goswell (Gesang, Gitarre), Christian Savill (Gitarre), Simon Scott (Schlagzeug) und dem Haupt-Songwriter der Band, Neil Halstead (Gesang, Gitarre). "Morningrise" ist vielleicht der beste Shoegaze-Song aller Zeiten und zusammen mit "She Calls" und "Losing Today" Teil der wunderbaren Morningrise EP. Der Titeltrack hebt den Pop-Spirit mit wunderbaren Gitarrenkaskaden. Die Melodie, die dem Refrain entflieht, ist dann nur noch herzöffnend.
