Das vierte Album von Hole war eine riesige kommerzielle Leistung, die erfolgreich die Lücke zwischen Grunge und Gitarren-Pop überbrückte. Die Band um Kurt Cobains Witwe Courtney Love hat sich als bahnbrechende Grunge-Gruppe mit weiblicher Front eine Nische geschaffen.

Die 1991 gegründete Band fungierte als kathartisches Ventil für Enfant terrible Love, was ihre Arbeit unglaublich fesselnd macht. Ihr 1998er Album Celebrity Skin enthüllte einen polierten, energetischen Klang. Billy Corgan von Smashing Pumpkins hat auf diesem großartigen Album 5 Songs mitgeschrieben, darunter den Titeltrack und "Malibu", die beide als Singles veröffentlicht wurden.

Obwohl das Album Platz 9 der Billboard Top 200 erreichte, wurden Original-Vinyl-Kopien von Celebrity Skin in geringer Stückzahl hergestellt - was diese allererste Neuauflage überhaupt zu einer dringend benötigten für die Fans macht!
